Sarah Dutton
Deputy Director of Surveys, CBS News

Sarah Dutton has been the Deputy Director of Surveys at CBS News since 1999. She develops questionnaires for and conducts analysis of CBS News polls and CBS News/New York Times polls, and actively participates in the release and dissemination of poll results on television and radio. Sarah is the CBS News representative on the National Election Pool Survey Committee, which writes the election exit poll questionnaires. On election nights, she analyzes exit poll data and appears on CBS Radio.

Prior to joining CBS News, Sarah was a Vice President at Roper Starch Worldwide, where she developed custom research projects. Before that, she spent eight years at Louis Harris and Associates.

She received a Master’s Degree in International Affairs from Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs, and a B.A. with honors in political science from New York University. She has served as Program Chair and Communications Chair for the New York Chapter of the American Association for Public Opinion Research.
